Sisk, an Ireland-based contractor, is in advanced talks with client Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies to finish Project Borealis, a £200m vaccine manufacturing factory in Teesside, UK.

Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies is a US-based provider of contract process development and manufacturing services for the biopharmaceutical industry.

Sisk is being considered to complete the build of the factory after the collapse of ISG, the initial contractor on the project.

Project Borealis will be the first major ISG project to resume works in the wake of the contractor’s fall into administration in October.

The multi-platform bio-tech manufacturing facility on the Billingham, Teesside, site is being delivered in two phases.

The project was paused during the advanced stage of phase 1 of the build. Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies has been contacted for an update.
