Experts join forces to share knowledge, training and personal development

A group of contamination control experts in the UK have teamed up to launch the Contamination Control Network (CCN), a society for cleanroom, clean air and containment practitioners.

CCN will provide news, knowledge, training and education, personal development and a network for partnering, collaborating and communicating.

The sphere of interest will include:

  • Design, control, testing and operation of cleanrooms
  • Containment systems, operating theatres, isolation rooms
  • Clean air devices, isolators, restricted access barrier systems (RABS)
  • Biosafety cabinets (BSCs/MSCs), local exhaust ventilation systems
  • (LEVs), fume-hoods, instruments
  • Garments and consumables

The main sectors in which these systems and equipment are used are pharmaceutical/life sciences, research, hospital, medical device, food, industrial, technology and nuclear.

Membership

The CCN is structured as a not-for-profit society with a written constitution, elected officers, a management committee and four levels of membership: student, individual, corporate and honorary.

Member benefits will include a website, a quarterly journal, access to CTCB-I training and education courses, an annual conference and opportunities to network with other members. The activities of the CCN are aimed at both providers and users of contamination control services, equipment and materials.

Chaired by, Tim Triggs, UK General Manager EMEA Director at Air Techniques International, the individuals leading this initiative are Gordon Farquharson, Stephen Ward, Keith Beattie, Kevin Beauchamp, John Neiger, Tim Eaton and Peter Hall.

"I am honoured to chair such a strong committee of cleanroom and containment experts. Together we will inject energy into the community of contamination control and play an important role delivering information, ideas and training to practitioners as well as stirring up a network and connecting people with a common interest."
