Contact plates for microbial monitoring

Transferring 55mm contact plates during microbiological air, surfaces and hands monitoring is always a risky business for the operator. The samples can become muddled up or the lid of the plate can easily be dropped.

The new stainless steel ISO-Easy Contact Plate Rack, made by Italian firm International pbi, is designed to hold contact plates tightly in place for convenient . The complete stainless steel construction guarantees sterilization by autoclaving or chemical treatment by vapour hydrogen peroxide (VHP) in isolators. The rack is also useful for incubation, according to the ISO standard requesting that each column of plates inside an incubator is at least 2cm apart.
