ClearSphere has secured a €6m investment from growth capital investor BGF to fuel its next phase of growth, marking BGF’s first investment in Cork.
“As ClearSphere looks to grow further, we are thrilled to have BGF on board, as that growth partner,” said Peter Marron, Managing Director at ClearSphere.
Headquartered in Cork, ClearSphere has delivered integrated controlled-environment systems for 35 years.
The company works with global life sciences and healthcare organisations, like Pfizer and Abbott, to provide cleanroom and containment solutions for pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
ClearSphere’s revenues have climbed from €6m in 2020 to more than €13m today.
The new investment will support ClearSphere’s expansion into Northern Ireland and Great Britain, strengthening its capacity to meet rising demand for high-performance containment and cleanroom facilities.
New leadership
As part of the partnership, Liam Nagle joins as Non-Executive Chair.
Nagle’s appointment comes through BGF’s Talent Network.
He brings more than 40 years of international leadership experience across pharmaceuticals, technology, construction and healthcare.
BGF’s Joe Higgins will also join the ClearSphere board as a Director, with Aoife McAdam appointed as a Board Observer, following regulatory approval from the CCPC.
Past projects
ClearSphere has delivered several other projects in the past few years, including a turnkey ISO Class 7 and 8 cleanroom for ABEC’s single-use container production.
They also delivered a 10,500 sqft pharmaceutical packaging facility for ILC Dover in Cork, and a partnership with AAF Europe to provide high-purity air-filtration solutions across Ireland.
