The isolator technology specialist has completed a prototype for a isolator with an incubator, enabling the safe and efficient production of genetically modified human cells for modern therapy

Block Isolator Technology, a Czech Republic-based isolator technology specialist, has completed its isolator with incubator prototype.

According to the company, the purpose of the project was to create a prototype system to prepare medicinal products, specifically for producing genetically modified human cells.

These cells need to be processed in a controlled, isolated environment and expanded in incubators.

The project successfully developed a new independent workplace system allowing the preparation of modern therapeutic medicines.

Another outcome of the project is that it successfully enabled the production of genetically modified human cells.

Additionally, the workplace system consisted of three main cooperating subsystems:

  • Isolator workstation: Provides a sterile and controlled environment for handling genetically modified cells.
  • Incubator: Facilitates the growth and expansion of genetically modified cells.
  • Decontamination system: Ensures sterility and safety within the system

The entire complex has been tested several times both in terms of functionality, serviceability, and usability, according to the company.
