Bespak, which designs, develops and manufactures drug delivery technologies, has opened a new facility at its King's Lynn site in the UK. The new building was officially opened by Dr Monica Darnbrough CBE, director of BioScience at the Department of Trade and Industry on November 5, 2003. The extension houses a 1,400m2 cleanroom facility containing the latest electric moulding and assembly suites for the manufacture of pressurised metered dose inhaler (pMDI) valves and actuators. It also features dedicated packaging and storage areas, a training room and changing facilities for staff. Bespak has been very successful at winning new pMDI valve and actuator business and the new hall will provide the manufacturing capacity to meet customer demand as these new products are launched worldwide. Mark Throdahl, CEO of Bespak, commented: "The completion of this project will help Bespak meet the requirements of its global customer base for years to come and realises its vision of becoming one of the world's leading drug delivery device developers."
