Automatic shoe protection from Kleanfeat
Industrial garment manufacturer and retailer AMPS International has come up with a new method designed to curb the spread of disease with the launch of its automatic protective overshoe loader.
Its Kleanfeat system is claimed to mark the end of hopping around on one leg whilst trying to put on an overshoe as the new system operates automatically.
Users simply walk into the aluminium-cased loader – one foot first – and after two clicks, the shoe is covered with a high denier, disposable overshoe.
Gulam Shaikh, chief executive officer of Kleanfeat, said: “Whilst the Department of Health is actively promoting its ‘clean your hands’ campaign and recommending that all medical staff adapt their clothing to ensure they are bare to the elbows, there have not been updated guidelines with regards to reducing cross-infection from dirty and bacteria-laden footwear.”
“Overshoes can play a very important role in the prevention of cross-infection, but until now, they were really inconvenient to put on.”
The high denier design of the overshoes is claimed to make it ideal for good grip on wet surfaces.
The starter pack comes with the aluminium-cased dispenser, 100 blue overshoes, a one-year warranty and a free carry case.
