Arlington and Schoeller launch combo of Combos

Arlington Packaging, of Wiltshire, UK has launched a new Combo as a result of its £500,000 product investment.

The new Drop Side Combo features a number of enhancements in response to issues raised by users since the initial launch of the Combo in 2003. Additions include a dropside door, allowing for quicker and easier insertion of the liner bag, and sight glass with five viewing holes, enabling the user to see the level of the container’s contents.

Arlington offers Combos for hire and lease purchase and has also launched the ComboLife 270, manufactured specifically to carry 1000 litres of liquid (such as fruit juice or dairy products) in a chilled shipping container or lorry.

“The Combo is the result of years of research into a system that offered exceptional hygienic performance and reduced costs per trip compared with existing liquids handling systems”, said Harry Fairbank, managing director of Arlington.

Oxfordshire-based Schoeller Arca Systems, a manufacturer of plastic returnable packaging for the materials handling industry, has also launched a new container – the Combo Aseptic.

Aseptic packaging entails filling a sterilised package with a sterile food product in a hygienic environment: the Combo Aseptic features a folding plastic IBC as its outer packaging and a disposable aseptic liner bag as inner packaging. The liner and valves are gamma-irradiated to ensure a sterile product fill.

Arlington, authorised reseller of Schoeller Arca Systems products, will offer the Combo Aseptic for hire in addition to its other Combos.
