Albion blending achieves IPPC
Albion Blending Services has been granted IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control) Authorisation by the Environment Agency, allowing it to conduct reaction chemistry at its purpose-built Bradford facility, as well as to blend and formulate simple chemical solutions, presenting the division with a significant competitive advantage.
As part of Albion Chemicals, the UK and Ireland's largest independent chemical sales and marketing group, Albion Blending Services offers customers raw material sourcing, warehousing, logistics and delivery, as well as blending-manufacturing services, all within a seamless supply chain solution. "Outsourcing production and supply is an increasingly attractive option for UK companies," said general manager Paul Booth. "Albion offers enormous buying power coupled with a total production and logistics solution that now includes reaction chemistry." Albion Blending Services offers a range of toll blending options, including that of soap and detergents in simple powder/liquid and liquid/liquid blends, through to more complex multi-component speciality products. The company's Bradford-based blending facility opened in 2004. It has also recently invested in additional facilities featuring emulsification capabilities within Albion's new Humber Terminal to further complement the company's range of blending services.
