AFOS congratulated by royalty

The success of AFOS in providing solutions to the medical and pharmaceutical industries across the world has been recognised by HRH the Duke of York, who recently toured AFOS's 1.48m Euros state-of-the-art production centre. AFOS designs and builds specialised equipment for use in laboratories and the pharmaceutical sector. It regularly exports equipment worth in excess of 2.97m Euros a year and is particularly strong in the Middle East, USA, South Africa and Europe. The Duke's visit comes just months after Hull-based AFOS announced a major expansion when the company's shareholders acquired Envair - a Lancashire-based company specialising in clean air and containment facilities for healthcare, laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry. The Duke inspected a range of equipment currently in production including a drum-sampling booth being built for a pharmaceutical client in Ireland on behalf of Envair and dissection and autopsy tables for the hospital market. Mike Sutton, executive chairman of AFOS, said: "We are constantly developing new markets and are planning a major sales drive in Australia and New Zealand. We are especially grateful for the support from UK Trade and Investment, Yorkshire Forward and Business Link Humber, which has enabled our export drive to be so successful."
