3M adhesive tapes offer heat resistance

3M has introduced a range of adhesive tapes for high temperature applications within cleanrooms.


The company said all the tapes withstand temperatures up to 260ºC without any impairment, making them among the most heat-resistant tapes available.

As well as tapes designed specifically for cleanroom applications, 3M offers some that are water-soluble so that they dissolve during the final cleaning process, leaving no residue. Others contain acrylic, a non-silicone adhesive for use in environments where there are concerns about silicone contamination.

In addition, some tapes are provided with a special liner to make them suitable for die-cutting to specified shapes.

As the tapes are based on polyimide film and do not contain lead, they are compliant with RoHS regulations.

All tapes are wound on to a plastic core.
