Arch Chemicals’ Vantocil FHC antimicrobial protects against swine flu
Arch Chemicals, a global producer of biocides, has found that its Vantocil FHC antimicrobial product is effective against the A(H1N1) virus. Research work performed by ATS Labs, in Eagan, Minnesota, US, showed that the antimicrobial was effective within 10 minutes, the company says.
Vantocil FHC is based on the active ingredient poly (hexamethylene biguanide) hydrochloride (PHMB) in combination with a quaternary ammonium compound (alkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride).
The PHMB antimicrobial from Arch Biocides, a business unit of Arch Chemicals, has a proven track record of providing broad-spectrum bactericidal and virucidal activity in a range of hygiene products. It is a non-staining, disinfectant detergent concentrate for the cleaning and disinfecting of all hard surfaces as part of a regular cleaning and infection control programme. It can be used in hospitals, domestic settings and food processing. www.archbiocides.com
