Prominent microbiology firm Cherwell to rebrand as AnalytiChem UK in September

The UK-based cleanroom microbiology solutions provider will rebrand in September, marking the next stage in its integration with the global AnalytiChem Group

Cherwell has confirmed it will change its name to AnalytiChem UK on 1 September 2025.

The rebrand marks the next step in its integration with the AnalytiChem Group, which it joined in January 2024.

AnalytiChem is a Germany-based manufacturer of specialised laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables.

Cherwell stated that the change is limited to the name, with all other aspects of its operations remaining the same.

Andy Whittard, Managing Director of Cherwell, also told Cleanroom Technology that 18 months after the acquisition, this became the “next logical step” as Cherwell integrates more fully into the group and the two become one business across the eight sites.

Cherwell’s (as it will be called until September) site, personnel, manufacturing processes, and customer services will continue without alteration.

Additionally, as part of AnalytiChem UK, Cherwell will continue to serve the pharmaceutical manufacturing and related sectors, maintaining its 54-year legacy of supporting contamination control and environmental monitoring within controlled environments.

The transition is aimed at strengthening product development and service delivery across global markets.

The company will retain operations at its ISO9001-registered Bicester facility, where it manufactures Redipor-branded prepared media products.

Whittard added that open communication with clients and stakeholders has also been a priority. To communicate clearly with customers, the company has already sent out direct communication via email. “We will also follow up with reminders on key documents, social channel comms, and website banners and pop-ups,” he said.

This move aligns with AnalytiChem’s broader strategy to unify its global sites under a single identity and mission, promoting collaboration, shared expertise, and investment.

An example of such investment is the recent installation of a new production line to support the launch of Redipor TwistLock plates, a locking lid plate designed to offer enhanced sample security in sterile manufacturing environmental monitoring.

Andy Whittard, Managing Director of Cherwell, said: “Our name may be changing, but our long-standing Cherwell values and culture will absolutely be maintained, and business will very much continue as usual,  just with a strengthened ability to collaborate with our sister companies and deliver on the opportunities that this presents for us and our customers.

“Becoming AnalytiChem UK is the next exciting chapter in Cherwell’s strong heritage in quality and innovation, presenting many further opportunities for future growth and expansion.

“Our UK leadership team is embracing this, whilst also ensuring that all the values that we hold dear, including quality, support, and flexibility for our customers, remain strong within our business moving forwards.”
