The UK cleanroom group supports the APDM, a residential course jointly organised by the NHS and the University of Leeds

This Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is designed to:

  • Meet the needs of pharmacy staff (pharmacists and experienced senior technicians) who are engaged in the aseptic processing of medicines
  • Cover the principles and practice of asepsis
  • Provide an update on knowledge of standards, practices and quality assurance arrangements relating to the aseptic preparation and dispensing of medicines

Validair Group attended this year’s event, which featured TSI AeroTrak range of particle counters and FMS 5.0 monitoring software, plus for the first time a live demonstration of the Validair ViGIE monitoring and critical alarm system.

This live demonstration system involved a simple competition that required the entrants to predict the temperature in a particular room at a specific time of day.

All of the clues were there, including real-time values, graphical and tabular historic data.

There were three correct entries and the final draw for the winner of the hamper of goodies was made by the course director, Chris Watts of Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
