Tekni-Plex, headquartered in Pennsylvania, focusses on developing and manufacturing packaging materials, medical compounds and medical tubing.
Dan Lazas has been appointed to the newly created role as senior director of sales optimisation of medical components. The role will support Tekni-Plex’s recently-acquired Dunn Industries, as well as its long-standing Natvar medical tubing business.
Steve Penn, senior vice president, sales and marketing at Tekni-Plex, said: “Dan is a sales and business-development executive with proven success in growing polymer technology businesses in medical and pharmaceutical markets. He has extensive knowledge of medical polymers and manufacturing processes and applications, with specific knowledge in growth-orientated adjacent markets.”
“Dan will work directly with the Dunn organisation and collaborate with the Natvar and Colorite business teams, our team in China, the global technology organisation and the corporate development/M&A team, to help add value to our medical device customers,” commented Penn.
Most recently, as the principal for the Lazas Marketing Group, Lazas provided strategic planning, comprehensive marketing and sales training for polymer technology companies serving the medical device markets.
Prior to this, he served as vice president, sales and marketing for PolyMedex Discovery Group, a specialist in advanced polymer materials and complex medical tubing.
Lazas also brings global experience to the position, having been based previously in Taiwan as regional manager, Greater China for Greene Tweed & Co.
Lazas earned a master of business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University.
According to Tekni-Plex its goal is to continuously create value for its medical technology customers by bringing new products to market that will assist it in meeting performance and commercialisation objectives.
Tekni-Plex has earned leading positions in the medical tubing and compound market segments through its Natvar and Colorite businesses.
