Simone Volpi has been named President and Managing Director of Comecer Group, a design and manufacture of isolation equipment and systems for the pharmaceutical and nuclear medicine sectors.
Volpi has over 28 years of international experience, spanning different industrial sectors. Before joining Comecer, he was VP of Engineered Valves for Circor International. He also acquired leadership experience at Tyco International and Pentair, including as Global Business Director for the Actuation sector.
Volpi also has multi-year experience in the motor industry and fluids control sector.
"I join an enthusiastic and highly skilled team, aware of the role Comecer plays in improving people's health thanks to the development of its technology," noted Volpi. "We will continue to provide innovative and customised solutions, so as to further consolidate our global presence in primary packaging for pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals."
Volpi succeeds Alessia Zanelli who served the company with distinction since 2009. Comecer was established in 1975 by the Zanelli family.
The decision to appoint Volpi reflects Comecer's transition from a family-owned business into a corporate enterprise within ATS, a multinational market leader. ATS provides automation solutions to many of the world's most successful companies, spanning multiple sectors. With a market capitalisation in excess of $4 billion, ATS' shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The Canadian multinational became the parent company of Comecer in 2019.
