Performance Contracting, a design-assist cleanroom contractor, has announced the hiring of Scott Kluegel, AIA, as architect and senior project engineer in the Washington, D.C. office.
Kluegel will support PCI's D.C., Albany, and Indianapolis offices' pre-construction, construction design assist, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) services.
"Adding Scott Kluegel and his design team to our business is not only going to change the way we approach design-assist projects. It will also change the way we integrate safety, constructability, and schedule into our projects. Scott adds an entire career of cleanroom design knowledge and experience to our business," said Dennis Papathanasopoulos, General Manager of PCI D.C.
Kluegel joins PCI with over 30 years of experience in architecture with a varied commercial practice. At his previous firm SSOE Group, Kluegel focused on semiconductor and pharmaceutical design and documentation, as well as sole-sourced PCI construction BIM services for the last decade.
With PCI, Kluegel will continue to build the team of BIM experts to support ongoing and future BIM- required projects/practices. Additionally, he will be supporting PCI's efforts in design assist project deliveries. His knowledge of architecture, cleanroom systems, and coordination with other trades enhances PCI's offerings as a trusted partner for cleanroom projects of all sizes.
Kluegel will also use his specialized software experience to further develop PCI's capabilities in the planning of cleanroom lighting and mechanical systems. This will provide customers with qualitative and quantitative budgeting and design assist services.
Papathanasopoulos is excited for what Kluegel's hire means for customers. "Scott and his team will work together with all our departments to provide expedited turn around on all projects. We are looking forward to this next chapter for our business and I'm thrilled that we can provide in-house design assist services for our customers and end users."
