Owen Mumford, a medical device designer and manufacturer, has appointed Professor Andrew Lewis as Research & Development Director as part of its continued investment in innovation.
Lewis is a Chartered Chemist and Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is also a Visiting Professor of Biomaterials and Drug Delivery at the University of Brighton and has been recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society with an Excellence and Innovation Award.
The new Director has extensive experience within the technical and scientific field across a number of leading pharmaceutical and medical devices companies. Most recently, he led a global cross-platform team of technical heads as VP of R&D with Innovation at Boston Scientific, where he spearheaded multiple scientific collaborations with several highly-respected institutions including Edinburgh University.
Jarl Severn, Managing Director at Owen Mumford, says Lewis's experience and knowledge will further support the company in ensuring innovation and scientific rigour are central to its R&D strategies.
