Compact Airo Sensors from ViGIE has been chosen by Pfizer to monitor the company's facilities during Covid vaccine production, and to monitor temperatures for the critical transportation of the vaccine between Pfizer factories, distribution centres and hubs worldwide.
It is widely known that the new vaccine, first approved for widespread use in the UK, must be kept at a very low temperature of minus 70 °C during storage and shipping.
Airo Transport Data Logger modules offer highly accurate temperature, humidity and motion records for critical consignments. Unlike many data logger components, the Airo range automatically downloads critical information to the VMS ViGIE software using RF technology. That eliminates the need for manual intervention to retrieve data. Both static and in-transit records can be viewed in the VMS software to make data interrogation and reporting simple, helping to rapidly validate the integrity of vaccines.
The compact and highly robust Airo sensor modules are self-powered for dependable RF transmission across distances of up to 600 metres yet feature an ultra-low-power consumption that gives a battery life of up to 10 years. Internal memory in each module can store 15,000 events. Airo modules communicate transparently with any available Airo receiver to create a wide area network.
VMS's ViGIE software and the smart Airo Data Logger modules are available in the UK and Ireland from Validair Monitoring Solutions Ltd (VMSL). Validair can also supply Airo setup and configuration expertise to enable logistics organisations to quickly become compliant for critical temperature validation across shipping and storage operations.
