Northland Laboratories completes expansion of Green Bay, Wisconsin laboratory

Food science specialist increases microbiology and chemistry testing services and breaks ground on another facility in Mt Prospect, Illinois


US-based testing laboratory Northland Laboratories has completed a major expansion at its Green Bay, Wisconsin facility.

The 12,000 ft2 (1,115 m2) facility has increased the firm's capacity for microbiology and chemistry testing services.

It includes a new area for its expanding Proficiency Testing services, and integrate new automation equipment used for scalability of testing.

'The expansion builds on a new, more efficient process flow throughout our operations,' said D.J. Alwattar, President of Northland Laboratories.

'With this added capacity, we have increased our throughput with a unique enterprising workflow process.'

In addition to the Green Bay expansion, Northland Laboratories has broken ground on a new food science centre for its Chicagoland location.

The 33,000 ft2 facility in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, will house microbiology, chemistry, sensory, research and consulting services specifically for the food and beverage industry.

It is scheduled to be completed early next year.
