FPS shows its micronisation and milling technologies at Interphex

FPS will show integrated milling solutions with and without barrier iolsator systems

At Interphex (21-23 March in New York, USA), Food and Pharma Systems (FPS) will show its latest innovations in micronisation and milling technologies for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical applications.

FPS will show an integrated solution for a jet mill, loop mill and mechanical mill: the multimilling platform.

An innovative interchangeable milling station will also be presented for milling operations in research departments and pilot plants, with different technologies integrated into a single system.

The platform covers:

  • - Spiral jet mill type PilotMill-5 or PilotMill-6
  • - Pin mill 100mm
  • - Loop mill type QMill-6
  • - Cone mill

A minimum footprint is given for use in existing rooms.

The milling system can be operated in conjunction with a cryogenic exchanger which allows the reduction of process temperature down to -100°C.

The system can be designed for installation in electric rated areas and with processing of OEB5/6 products if combined with the FPS barrier isolator system.

Milling operations may result in dust clouds, exposing operators and the environment to highly potent APIs (HPAPIs) due to the high energy involved in the process and the size reduction down to few a μm.

Siting the multimilling station in an isolator guarantees levels of containment down to 40ng/m3 while operating with interchangeable pilot size mills (spiral jet mills, mechanical mills, etc).
