Envirotainer wins order for 'the world's most advanced' air cargo containers

Envirotainer, the Swedish pioneer and leading provider of active temperature-controlled air transportation solutions, has won a SEK22m (€2.35m) order from one of the world's leading manufacturers of semiconductor equipment for its RGX advanced technology air cargo container. Deliveries of the new containers covered by the contract will begin in mid-2007.

This important new order for Envirotainer confirms the continued commitment from the high-tech industry to using the state-of-the-art RGX container as a means of transportation worldwide. Providers of large scale, high value and sensitive equipment use these custom-designed air cargo containers from Envirotainer to ensure secure transportation of their products.

The RGX achieves this by combining temperature control and de-humidification and special features such as optional vibration isolation and shock damping systems.

The use of these sophisticated 20-foot RGX containers has allowed manufacturers to substantially shorten the delivery time from factory to functioning unit at the customer site for their machines, reducing the total cost and risk in assembly and delivery of their equipment.

The manufacture and supply of customised containers is an addition to Envirotainer's core business of leasing temperature controlled air cargo containers to the healthcare industry and its airline and freight forwarding partners. The company currently deploys 3,500 units in its leasing fleet worldwide.

“We believe the RGX is the most technologically advanced air cargo container in the world,” said Thomas Persson, ceo of Envirotainer. “As a specialised solution driven by high-end market requirements, the Envirotainer RGX container embodies and demonstrates our innovation, design and production capabilities while affirming our position as market leader in the field of air cargo temperature management.”
