Diversey Care has announced the launch of Oxivir 1 ready-to-use wipes. The new disinfectant wipes will lead its Disinfectant Portfolio. The company is a division of Sealed Air – a food safety and security, facility hygiene and product protection company.

Powered by Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP), the wipes are to be used against bacteria, enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, TB and fungi.

The company say it is effective within one minute or less and that it has claims on 75 key pathogens.

Oxivir 1 has a safety rating of category IV (the best possible). The wiped are a one-step solution, designed for use in healthcare environments.

It should clean and disinfect surfaces and equipment in one pass while being gentle surfaces.

It also gentle on staff, claims Diversey; the wipes are non-irritating to skin and eyes, requires no personal protective equipment and is compatible with most common healthcare surfaces and equipment.

The wipes are available in a variety of sizes including the 6”x7” 160-count canister, 7”x8” 60-count canister and 11”x12” 160-count bucket and refill option.

The smaller sizes are for disinfecting smaller surfaces and shared patient care equipment. The 11”x12” wipes are for larger area cleaning and disinfection in operating rooms, emergency departments and patient rooms.

Due to their safety rating (no PPE required), the wipes can be positioned throughout healthcare facilities for use by patients, visitors and staff.

“The new Oxivir 1 wipes raise the bar by reducing turnover time while keeping costs in line,” said Carolyn Cooke, Vice President Healthcare North America, Diversey Care. “Healthcare staff can increase speed and effectiveness with this powerful one-step disinfectant cleaner, which is effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens in just one minute.

“The wipes improve compliance by staying wet on surfaces for the required label contact time, which ensures disinfection while streamlining the process.”
