In response to market research findings and customer feedback, BioFit re-engineered its complete line of round-steel-seat stools with enhanced seats. The new seats are double the thickness of previous seats ‒ 14 gauge vs. 18 gauge ‒ and proven in testing to be twice as strong and half as susceptible to stress. Like the previous steel seats, they have a formed flange and no sharp edges. Series featuring the new seats include BioFit’s Traxx height-adjustable stools, available in four bases styles with dual-wheel resistance casters or glides; Ajax 4-legged stools, available in three heights and featuring welded construction of 18-gauge tubular steel legs, a 19-gauge tubular steel footring and glides; and, TXG height-adjustable stools, highlighted by a compact footprint with four 18-gauge tubular steel legs and glides.
On the stool seat redesign, Ed Metzger, President of BioFit, shared: “We heard and heeded our customers, particularly those in the industrial and education markets, when they expressed their desire for a more rigid seat on the steel stools they specify and use. Coupled with the outcome of research we already had underway, we’re pleased to offer even better versions of some of our most popular and time-tested series.”
The new steel stool seats are available as standard with a black powder coat finish or an optional chrome finish and do not affect performance package (cleanroom, static control, combination cleanroom/static control) configuration availability of pertinent models. Additionally, like all BioFit stools, the redesigned models are LEED-compliant for use in commercial interiors, made in the USA and carry a 13-year warranty.
