Astell Scientific, the UK’s autoclave and effluent decontamination systems manufacturer, has appointed Paul Birchmore to the position of sales and marketing director. Birchmore replaces Dave Thomas, who retires after serving in the position for 16 years and working at Astell for over 35 years.
Birchmore joins Astell from Carbolite Gero, manufacturers of high temperature furnaces and ovens, where he held positions as international sales director and sales and marketing director in successive years.
Upon announcing his departure, Dave Thomas said: “I am sorry to be leaving Astell but proud of its current position in the market and I wish Paul every success.”
Paul Birchmore added “I am delighted to be joining Astell, an organisation noted for its history, products and reputation, and thank Dave for his long serving contribution. I’m looking forward to building on these good foundations and securing future growth.” Astell recently launched the AstellBio brand to bring greater focus to its effluent decontamination systems business and continues to offer the widest selection of laboratory autoclaves on the market.
