BSI holds second cleanroom conference and workshop
BSI will be holding the 2nd annual Cleanrooms and Contamination Control conference and workshop in London on 24-25 June. Aimed at those who operate, manage, equip, commission or build cleanrooms, the conference will provide a concise summary of all the latest information and best practice guidance.
This year the conference is being held at the Heathrow Marriott Hotel and will be chaired by Gordon Farquharson, principal consultant – technology division, Bovis Lend Lease.
It will be streamed to tackle the varied issues faced by those different roles in a cleanroom’s life cycle, across all cleanroom users including healthcare, medical devices, packaging, food, materials, electronics, automotive and aerospace. Stream 1 will look at operational consideration, while Stream 2 will deal with design and construction of cleanrooms.
With new draft cleanrooms standards in development, the event will look at their impact on cleanroom design and/or operating process and practices. It will also cover updates on related subjects and documents such as biocontamination control (BS EN ISO 14689 series), disaster recovery, sustainability and energy saving.
Delegates to the conference will benefit from: • An update on latest legislation at UK, EU and International levels • An update on likely changes to the Cleanroom and related standards and what to prepare for • Opportunities to give feedback on likely changes to the standards • Learning how to apply the latest best practice • Hearing about case studies on how leading experts are tackling the issues and finding solutions • Addressing problems in streamed sessions relevant to their role, enabling sharing of expertise between industries • Learning from industry and standards experts.
The post- conference workshop on 25 June will be led by Brian Midcalf, assistant PTQA course director, University of Leeds, and will have the theme ‘Working with separative devices and isolator technology (BS EN ISO 14644-7)’.
It will cover the role of separative devices in cleanrooms (or controlled zones); key design considerations; factors relating to the validation of separative devices; controlling the microbial level of the separative device; use of gas sanitisation; leak detection in perspective; and optimal ways of monitoring the separative device.
