Alfa Laval’s new Compabloc Free Flow condenser is specifically designed for use in the pharmaceutical industry. It offers state-of-the-art hygienic design, high performance, low operating costs and easy installation in minimal space.
Compabloc Free Flow fully meets the requirements for installation in stringent cGMP processes. Cleaning and validating is quick and easy; it is also fully drainable and ensures minimal risk of cross-contamination between batches due to the absence of crevices, dead spots and contact points on the product side.
Inspections are easily performed by simply opening the panels, giving full access to all product-wetted surfaces. The condenser is also available in highly corrosion-resistant materials, making it the perfect replacement for graphite blocks or shell-and-tubes.
The all-welded, robust design makes it insensitive to heat and cold shocks and obviates concerns about leaking gaskets.
The compact size means low investment costs when exotic materials are needed. Its high thermal efficiency also means it requires less cooling medium than other types of condensers, alternatively it may use a less costly cooling medium at a higher temperature.
The low pressure drop in a Compabloc Free Flow makes it very suitable for deep vacuum condensing duties and the highly turbulent flow minimises scaling on the cooling media side and makes cleaning highly efficient.
