Germany-based Hengst has expanded its cleanroom and semiconductor filter offering with the addition of FFUs and HEPA filters for the Asian microelectronics market

Hengst Filtration has announced the acquisition of Chinese air filtration specialist CSC Tech, marking a significant expansion of its activities in the cleanroom and semiconductor sectors.

The Germany-based company has signed an agreement to acquire the business as part of its ongoing transformation from an automotive supplier to a diversified filtration technology specialist.

CSC Tech manufactures fan filter units (FFUs) alongside HEPA and ULPA filters for cleanroom environments, primarily serving microchip manufacturers and electronics production facilities in China and Taiwan.

The acquisition will enhance Hengst Filtration’s portfolio, complementing its existing capabilities in particle, harmful gas, and trace gas filtration, the latter provided through its subsidiary Artemis Control.

Following the transaction, Hengst Filtration will be positioned as a full-service provider for cleanroom and semiconductor production.

The integration of CSC Tech’s products and expertise is expected to strengthen Hengst’s presence in these rapidly developing sectors.

Both CSC Tech and Hengst’s existing Chinese operations are located in the Yangtze River Delta region, encompassing Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui.

CSC Tech’s administration and sales offices are based in Suzhou, a city of approximately 13 million people, with its production site situated in Kunshan, part of the greater Suzhou area. Hengst operates two locations in China: one in Kunshan and another in Jinan, Shandong province.

CEO of Hengst Filtration, Christopher Heine, said: “Semiconductors are the backbone of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. And following our investment in Artemis Control, CSC Tech is another piece of the puzzle for us as a partner in this industry.”

Heine continued to express his excitement about this new partnership, stating: "We are happy that CSC Tech is joining Hengst Filtration, and we welcome all its customers and partners."
