In the first cell therapy manufacturing site of its kind in the UK, CREST has assumed responsibility for the cleanroom envelope specification across three storeys of the vast building. Utilising 7'500m² of Puracore’s high-specification panel system throughout, the scope comprises of a range of processing labs, microbiology labs and essential MALs and PALs leading into each area, where Grade B is the highest cleanroom specification required. CREST will also take care of a pharmaceutical chiller build on the ground floor.
Our design team have been embedded since the project’s early stages to develop this in collaboration with the contractor’s own 3D design models. This has included successfully incorporating REVIT drawings into our practices to not only produce an exact visual representation of the works, but further streamline internal coordination processes ahead of the site start. This was essential for such a fast-track modular build.
CREST’s Contracts Director, Lee Duffield, has acknowledged the significance of the fast-track nature of this project further: “In order to meet the 16-week construction schedule, we currently have five installation teams working simultaneously across all levels of the building. I am pleased to report that we are on target to achieve this, and it is a testament to the ability of my team, both on site and in-house, that we can match the speed and coordination of such a vast contract.”
Stancold CREST remain a committed and embedded supplier to turnkey cleanroom contractors, aiding them to continue to undertake large-scale project in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
