Clean Air Service (CAS) to become part of Particle Measuring Systems
Swiss supplier of cleanroom measurement systems will help PMS to expand its presence among pharmaceutical manufacturers
Spectris, a supplier of instrumentation and controls, headquartered in Egham, Surrey, UK, has acquired CAS Clean Air Service (CAS), for an undisclosed sum.
CAS, established in 1989 and headquartered in Wattwil, Switzerland, is a supplier of cleanroom measurement systems. It serves the pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical technology, plastics technology, and optics markets.
The firm, which CAS generates annual revenue of around CHF10m, of which services represent approximately 85%, has a strong customer base in Switzerland and within the Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH) region. It also has five other sites in Stein, Switzerland, Vienna and Innsbruck, Austria, and two in Germany.
CAS will be integrated into Spectris company Particle Measuring Systems (PMS), a leader in the environmental monitoring industry and the largest particle counter manufacturer in the world. The CAS name will become a product brand within PMS.
'This is a strategic move for Particle Measuring Systems,' said John Mitchell, President at PMS. 'The acquisition of CAS fits perfectly with our strategy of expanding our presence with pharmaceutical manufacturers, and particularly with aseptic manufacturers.'
He added: 'CAS will provide a strong presence in Switzerland and expands our base within the DACH region, provides a foundation to expand our GMP services business outside of DACH, and provides the opportunity for the CAS organisation and brand to grow with PMS.'
CAS represents Spectris’ seventh acquisition in the last two years.
