BLOCK Technology has been working on a prototype with Czech government agencies since January 2025.
The project aims to create a real-time monitoring solution for the aseptic production of gene therapy medicines in isolators.
The project’s objective is to develop a prototype system that uses advanced methods of image analysis and real-time 3D modelling of the production process.
Cleanroom containment manufacturer BLOCK says it is working “intensively” on the new development, which is funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic within the TREND Programme.
The prototype is planned to:
- Increase the safety and quality of production in the isolator.
- Improve operator training through realistic simulations.
- Perform detailed audits of production processes.
BLOCK plans to make the entire system controlled and monitored by newly developed software, which will include the management and recording of technological processes.
“We believe that this project will not only bring a significant increase in the safety and quality of pharmaceuticals, but will also take the technological possibilities in the field of pharmaceutical production to a new level,” the company stated.
A busy few years for BLOCK
On top of this project, BLOCK has recently been part of a merger of three companies.
These three companies are:
- TIMOTEC Reinraum - und Automatisierungstechnik
- A German manufacturer and supplier of cleanroom solutions, laminar flow workstations and other cleanroom elements for the optoelectronic and semiconductor industry
- BLOCK Technology
- A Czech manufacturer and supplier of isolator technology and technological equipment intended mainly for the pharmaceutical industry, science and research and the healthcare sector
- FOR Clean
- A Slovak manufacturer of stainless steel furniture and built-in clean rooms
The merger was facilitated by the Czech investment fund, CEIP.
CEIP acquired BLOCK Group in mid-2024, and then acquired TIMOTEC in 2025.
In May 2025, when TIMOTEC was acquired, the joint group was created. This is to be called the Timotec business group.
The three companies are managed by the same controlling person, who will ensure their integration to achieve joint synergies and ensure the growth of the group.
A statement on BLOCK Technology’s website reads: “The establishment of the TIMOTEC group is a significant step in the strategy to build a strong supplier of customised solutions for isolator technology, laminar flow systems, automation, robotics, cleanroom and its equipment, especially in the pharmaceutical, science and research, optoelectronics, semiconductor and healthcare industries.”
The group is focusing now on growth in the DACH and CEE regions, with a “view to further expanding its territory”.
