Steve Ward chosen as new Chair of LBI/30, replacing Gordon Farquharson

Ward has been confirmed as the new Chairman of the LBI/30 Cleanroom Technology Committee for the British Standards Institution (BSI), replacing Gordon Farquharson

Steve Ward, Validair's highly respected colleague and Managing Director of sister company Validair Diamond Scientific, has been confirmed as the new Chairman of the LBI/30 Cleanroom Technology Committee (BSI), replacing Gordon Farquharson.

The Cleanroom Technology Committee addresses the manufacturing sector and is responsible for the UK input to ISO/TC 209 and CEN/TC 243 for standards in the field of cleanroom technology. The cleanroom technology committee’s work covers several operational categories predominantly concentrating on cleanrooms, associated controlled environments and air quality, but also including Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environment, Health Protection, and Safety.

Steve Ward explains that after many years of exemplary service as chairman, Gordon Farquharson has stepped down but remains active on the committee. “I plan to continue Gordon’s fine legacy by chairing this BSI committee to contribute to clear, meaningful and unambiguous standards that benefit the contamination control industry in a positive way,” says Ward.
