US-based original equipment manufacturer serving hi-tech industries has divested of M+W Group Americas

NSTAR Global Services, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and facility service company serving hi-tech manufacturing industries, has announced its management buyout and divestiture from M+W Group Americas. Effective April 16, 2018 NSTAR is, once again, an independent privately held company.

Headquartered in Garner, North Carolina, NSTAR was founded in 2001 and acquired by M+W Group’s holding company M+W Americas, Inc. in 2010.

NSTAR has seen continued year-over-year growth and has traditionally focused on the semiconductor industry, with expansion into hi-tech adjacent markets such as solar, LED/flat-panel display, life sciences and automation.

Both companies realised the divestiture would be optimal because of a change in market demand, and so that each could focus on its core competencies.

“Becoming a stand-alone company again bolsters NSTAR’s entrepreneurial spirit and allows us to be more competitive in this market space,” said Darrell McDaniel, president and CEO of NSTAR Global Services.

He continued: “NSTAR has a proven track record of success within the technical field, and 18 years of strong financial results. Our customers can be confident in our stability, and our independent status allows us to be much more nimble and flexible in solving their technical workforce challenges.”
