Getinge appoints new President and CEO

Alex Myers will succeed Johan Malmquist who has resigned

Swedish medical technology group Getinge has appointed Alex Myers as President and CEO following the resignation of Johan Malmquist.

Myers will assume his new position at the company's Annual General Meeting on 25 March.

Malmquist, who has spent 26 years at Getinge, including 18 years as President and CEO, will continue to contribute to the Group as an advisor to the Board of Directors and Myers until the 2016 Annual General Meeting.

Myers is currently President and CEO of Hilding Anders, a global leader within the bedding industry. He has previous experience at the Getinge Group when he was CEO for ArjoHuntleigh and Executive Vice President for the Extended Care Business Area from 2009–2013.

Prior to this, Myers was a member of the Carlsberg’s Group Executive Management Team for 10 years, of which for the last five years he held the position of Head of the Western European markets.

In addition, Joacim Lindoff has been appointed as Executive Vice President of Getinge's Infection Control Business Area.
