Astro Pak, the US-based passivation and chemical cleaning, has announced the appointment of Gordon Hill as the General Manager of its cleanroom operations in Downey, California.
Hill will be overseeing a 35,000 square foot cleanroom facility that supports a vast array of clients in space launch, space flight, aircraft, semiconductor, medical device and other technical hardware industries.
The broad scope of services in the Downey site creates a challenge of how to manage operations throughput for such diverse customers and precision cleaning requirements.
"The addition of Gordon Hill as General Manager is the perfect fit. His background in team building, aerospace quality management systems, production process and optimization is exactly what Astro Pak needs as the company prepares for considerable growth," Robert Pozil, Senior Vice President of Astro Pak, commented.
Hill earned a Bachelor of Science degrees in both Chemical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Missouri. He went on to earn a Masters of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Villanova and gained his MBA in Finance at the University of Houston.
Prior to joining Astro Pal, Hill took on various positions in operations and manufacturing roles at ARCO and Potters Industries for a number of years before entering the aerospace industry, where he held high-level posts at Saint Gobain and DART Aerospace.
Commenting on his appointment, Hill said: “I am thrilled to be a part of the Astro Pak team. As the premier leader in high purity and precision cleaning serving the aerospace, pharmaceutical and other markets, the California cleanroom operations are poised for growth and I am excited to lead our outstanding team in order to serve our customers with best-in-class customer experience performance.”
