French industrial group Altifort has acquired the site as planned
German engineering group GEA has announced that it has concluded the sale of its GEA Westfalia Separator Production France SAS entity to the French industrial group Altifort as planned. The Westfalia business unit specialises in manufacturing separators and decanters.
The deal includes GEA's French standard separators production facility and the respective real estate in Château-Thierry, in the Hauts-de-France region.
GEA said in a statement that this is an important step towards the streamlining of its global production footprint and that the transaction allows the preservation of all related jobs.
"To enable a smooth transition for all parties, a transitional period of up to two years has been agreed by the parties ensuring the purchase of relevant manufacturing services from the site," reads a statement.
Alifort is a French industrial group working on special materials for critical applications for sectors such as aeronautics and space, agri-food, automotive, military, medical, naval, nuclear and petrochemistry.
The parties have agreed not to disclose any financial details of the deal.
