This expansion complements their existing UK operations based in Newbury, Berkshire, making Elis Cleanroom the only cleanroom laundry provider in the UK with the contingency of two plants.
The opening of the second site was driven by increased cleanroom activity and rising demand for processing options in the Midlands, North of England, and Scotland.
The Knutsford facility features both ISO 4 and ISO 7 cleanrooms, with all processing fully compliant with Annex 1 section 7.17. A comprehensive range of solutions is available, including textile garments for all types of cleanroom production areas, reusable cleanroom cleaning systems (mops & wipes), cleanroom tacky mats, cleanroom shoes/clogs, cleanroom socks, and cleanroom goggles. These can be sterilised in-house using an autoclave or, for those who prefer, through external gamma irradiation.
Initially, the facility will create 40 jobs in the area, with plans for future growth. Production began in Q2 2024. This new site adds to the 32 cleanroom laundries in the 18 countries where Elis Cleanroom operates, further strengthening our position as the leading contamination control partner.
