Ecolab to buy Australian cleaning product company
Creates opportunities for expansion in water care and pest elimination services
Cleaning and sanitation products firm Ecolab is to buy the Cleantec business of the Australian company Campbell Brothers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cleantec makes cleaning and hygiene products mainly within the Australian food service, hospitality and textile care markets. Its annual sales amount to about US$55m.
Douglas Baker, Ecolab's chairman, president and chief executive, said the acquisition would expand Ecolab’s customer base and create opportunities for the company’s customers in water care and pest elimination services.
Ecolab, based in St Paul, Minnesota, has annual sales of US$6bn and provides cleaning, sanitising, food safety and infection prevention products and services to foodservice, food and beverage processing, healthcare, and hospitality companies in more than 160 countries.
