The new Taicang facility is one of Camfil´s biggest plants with a total area of more than 40,000 sqm with the goal of meeting the growing demand for air filtration solutions in China and the APAC region.
The centre is, moreover, Camfil´s first integrated factory producing all of the four business areas’ product lines. Its research and development centre will apply testing in accordance with ISO16890 and it will be equipped to design customised products for China and the Asia Pacific market.
“This year Camfil proudly celebrates 60 years of innovation and supplying Clean Air Solutions that protect people, industrial processes, and our planet. Clean air should be a human right. That has been our vision since day one," said Mark Simmons, CEO and President of Camfil AB "It is an astounding achievement that we all managed together to complete this on time, despite many global turbulences in past years."
“This opening means a stronger Swedish presence in the Chinese market, and during 2022 Sweden was number 1 on the latest EU Innovation Scoreboard, where the country is the best performer across the board,” affirms Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, from the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai.
This plant marks a key step for Camfil in the Chinese market, where the company has been present since 2002 with facilities in Kunshan and Taicang.
With Camfil´s continued growth and efforts towards sustainability, these plants, which have been operative since the second quarter of 2022 are now been replaced by this new facility. This plant produces general ventilation filters, turbomachinery filters, molecular contamination control filters, and a new series for air pollution control along with a metal works centre for housing, air cleaners, dust collectors and more.
During the opening day, employees and visitors could experience the modern and artistic building, the convenient office layout, the spacious and comfortable workshop and warehouse areas on a guided tour.
