Each year, around 102,043 pieces from Micronclean’s Skegness site and 82,628 pieces from its Louth site will now be securely recycled through Avena’s textile recycling service. These textiles will be repurposed as insulation material, ensuring that end-of-life garments continue to deliver value rather than contribute to landfill waste.
In addition, Micronclean will be introducing a closed-loop process to return and reuse its uniforms internally, further extending the life cycle of its garments.

“Textile recycling is a key deliverable under our Circular Economy pillar to securely dispose of our garments,” said Sophie Harris, QSHE & HR Director. “It marks the second major milestone in our MicronGreen Strategy for 2025, alongside the recent introduction of HVO fuel to our fleet.”
This strategic move demonstrates Micronclean’s continued commitment to reducing its environmental impact through practical, measurable actions that support its goal of a fully circular approach to resources. As part of the company’s MicronGreen strategy, the business’s 2025 target is to reduce waste by 5% throughout the waste hierarchy.
