ABN Cleanroom Technology, a Belgium-based cleanroom expert, has acquired POELS, a Belgian company that specialises in building completion and finishing works.
With this acquisition, ABN Cleanroom Technology has expanded its construction expertise in cleanroom wall and ceiling systems and aims to establish itself as a top five European player in the cleanroom sector.
Further, according to ABN Cleanroom Technology, this acquisition has brought the company one step closer to its goal of becoming the market leader in cleanroom solutions in the Benelux region, a politico-economic union between Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

ABN Cleanroom Technology and POELS have long collaborated on innovative projects, including the development of the circular wall system HOSPIWALL for the hospital sector.
The current CEO of POELS, David Saenen, will become a key shareholder, along with Gauthier Pauly, Manager of POELS Labs, and Michiel Tijtgat, Manager of POELS West-Flanders.
POELS achieved a turnover of €24m (Euros) in the past fiscal year
In terms of ABN Cleanroom Technology’s growth ambition, this acquisition has put it on track to reach its long-term goal of reaching a turnover of €100m by 2028.
POELS achieved a turnover of €24m in the past fiscal year, while ABN Cleanroom Technology recorded €16m (Euros) last year and is expected to close this year with a turnover of €22m.
“Thanks to this acquisition, we are taking POELS to the next level and ensure continuity for the future,” said Saenen.
