Ainos, a US-based specialist in AI-driven scent digitisation technology, has expanded its strategic partnership with ASE Technology.
ASE is a Taiwan-based provider of semiconductor assembly and test services.
Central to this collaboration is the phased deployment of Ainos’ AI Nose platform, a digital olfaction system designed to enhance environmental monitoring, safety, and ESG reporting within cleanroom and production environments.
The deployment roadmap outlines an initial evaluation phase of approximately 1,400 AI Nose units across ASE’s sites, including those operated by its subsidiary, Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL).

This will be followed by Phase 1, scaling to around 5,000 units integrated throughout cleanrooms and key production zones.
Phase 2 will complete the rollout, ultimately targeting up to 15,000 units across ASE’s global operations.
Real-time VOC anomaly detection, facility environmental sensing, and automated ESG compliance monitoring are among the platform’s core applications.

This digital olfaction capability complements smart factory initiatives and supports predictive safety and environmental integrity in cleanroom operations.
Eddy Tsai, Chairman, President, and CEO of Ainos, said: “With recent collaborations including Ugo in robotics and Kenmec in smart factories, we are rapidly scaling the reach of AI Nose across automation ecosystems.
“This broadened relationship with ASEH further validates our technology and a significant global rollout opportunity. By converting scent into machine-readable Smell ID through our smell language model, we are introducing a new layer of environmental intelligence into semiconductor manufacturing.”

Tsai also described the expanded partnership as a pivotal step in the company’s strategy to introduce digital olfaction into industrial settings on a global scale.
He noted that the deployment model with ASE could act as a blueprint for similar installations across other advanced manufacturing sectors, supporting broader adoption of smart sensing technologies and automated ESG compliance frameworks.
"This is a major milestone in our mission to bring digital olfaction to industrial environments at scale," Tsai said. "We also believe this deployment model can serve as a scalable reference for other advanced manufacturing clients worldwide, further advancing smart sensing and ESG integration. We could expect digital olfaction to generate stable recurring revenue for Ainos on an annual basis, with multi-million annual revenue potential in the coming years."
