Modular facilities supplier expands operations with a new facility in Götene to double current production capacity

KeyPlants AB, a leading supplier of modular facilities for the pharmaceutical and life science industries, has unveiled plans to expand its production with a new facility in Götene.

The move comes in response to a recently secured large-scale order and continued strong demand for modular production and processing facilities within the life sciences sector.

“We have been looking for production space for a long time and quite by chance found the opportunity here in Götene,” said Sven Lans, CEO of KeyPlants Emtunga AB.

The expansion reflects increased investment in European pharmaceutical manufacturing, driven by supply chain resilience initiatives and growing demand for biologics and advanced therapies.

Under a four-year lease agreement with Forshem Fastigheter, KeyPlants will establish operations at the Götenehus industrial site, enabling the company to double its current production capacity.

The expanded facility will focus on manufacturing large steel modules used in fast-delivery modular facilities for the life sciences and advanced technology sectors.

KeyPlants’ modular construction approach is designed to help pharmaceutical companies accelerate facility delivery timelines.

By completing significant portions of facility build-outs off-site, the company said clients can bring manufacturing capacity online faster than with traditional on-site methods.

The company reports that this can reduce time to market by eight to ten months.

The Götene expansion is expected to create around 70 jobs, including 15–20 new positions locally, with recruitment focused on assemblers and warehouse personnel.

Production at the new site is projected to begin in March 2026.

“After this, an additional two to three major projects are already in the pipeline,” said Lans.
