PCI Pharma Services (PCI), a global pharmaceutical outsourcing services provider, has appointed Melissa Ertl executive director of quality. Ertl will be responsible for leading quality activities at PCI's corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.
The Phildelphia-based Center of Excellence handles contract packaging services for commercial medicines, medical devices, animal health medicines and consumer healthcare products.
Ertl joins PCI with extensive industry experience. Prior to joining PCI, Ertl worked for GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson and Wyeth (Pfizer), she has an extensive background and wealth of knowledge in quality and compliance.
She brings experience including investigation writing, regulatory inspections, risk and data integrity assessment, training development, procedure development, change management systems, remediating CAPAs, and working with batch documentation.

Ertl holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology-Behavioral Science from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and a MBA in Biotechnology and Healthcare Management from Penn State University.
