Clestra Hong Kong has recently delivered a BSL-3 containment facility for the Hong Kong Department of Health.
This new laboratory is specifically designed for scientists and researchers to perform highly contagious disease surveillance, prevention and control.
BSL-3 standards were achieved using flush steel panels to minimise the number of visible junctions, as well as double-skin walkable ceiling. A double-skin peripheric barrier was also installed to isolate the facility from the core concrete walls.
Rooms are equipped with all necessary decontamination equipment, including autoclaves, decontamination chambers and air showers. For increased safety, cleanroom-grade double-glazed windows increase visibility across the rooms.
Clestra teams worked hand-in-hand with specialist consultants and main contractor teams to achieve the stringent standards required for such sensitive facilities.
