The organisers of the cleanroom event in Germany, CleanZone, have announced that the event is being discontinued.
The international and interdisciplinary stand-alone trade fair for cleanroom and cleanliness technology, hygiene and contamination control was normally hosted in Frankfurt.
The event first began in 2012 and used to be annual. However, following a break for the COVID-19 pandemic, the event came back in 2022 with the stipulation that it would now run every other year.
The final stand-alone event took place in September 2024, with attendees noticing a lull in attendance.
It is this factor that the owners, Messe Frankfurt, are stating as the reason for the cancellation. Officially stating a “changing demand within the industry”.
Anja Diete, Show Director, who headed up the event, said: “In the end, the market demand wasn’t strong enough to secure its future, although we created meaningful content and a strong network.”
While the physical event format will not take place, the Cleanzone brand will remain in a different format. “Cleanroom technologies will continue to be visible across our existing trade fairs and content hubs such as Building. Technology. Solutions. , Foodtech Now!, and Textile Care,” stated Messe Frankfurt.
Alternative events to put on the calendar?
The cleanroom sector is very niche, though a backdrop to many other sectors. There are only a few other events that occupy a similar niche.
In Germany, the direct competitor to CleanZone is Lounges. Lounges takes place in the spring and has 250 exhibitors and over 9,300 visitors.
Across the English Channel is the Cleanroom Technology Conference, which offers an exhibition, conference, and networking event.
The annual event is all part of the same brand as Cleanroom Technology magazine and hosts a large network of industry powerhouses. To enquire about participation, please email brian@hpcimedia.com.
