Operators in aseptic cleanrooms (class A/B) are required to wear hoods, cleanroom masks and goggles, but frequently experience issues with comfort, keeping cool and goggles fogging up. In trying to find a more practical solution, THI, the experienced Austrian designer and manufacturer of award-winning surgical protection systems, stepped up to the challenge and redesigned it’s proven full-coverage protection technology specifically for personnel in EU-GMP Grade A/B manufacturing cleanrooms.
Paul Gruber of THI explained: "Uncompromising barrier performance and personal comfort, now it is possible for an operator to experience both at the same time! ViVi-CR does create a physical barrier between the user’s head and the environment to reduce the transfer of particles while creating user comfort with its unique air ventilation."
How it works
ViVi-CR features a highly effective, low noise airflow through the headcover that provides fresh, cool air and manages the removal of filtered waste air from the system.
High air exchange rates eliminate fogging issues and ensure a comfortable climate, even under significant physical load.
The lowest system weight of comparable headcover systems in the market and a neutral balance design ensures best ergonomics. And there is more. Gesture-controlled user interfaces ensure that operators can focus on tasks at hand without the risk of contamination.
During the design phase of the ViVi-CR system, THI focused on operator’s insight that it is okay to wear barrier systems as long as there are no significant negative side effects on comfort and ergonomics.
Unique solution on the market
With ViVi-CR, THI has successfully accommodated the industry’s requirements in terms of comfort, breathability, filtration performance, particle release, noise and panoramic vision. The resulting cleanroom helmet system is now a new and unique solution on the marketplace.
Since its launch in 2019, ViVi-CR has won the ‘Innovation Award’ at the 2019 ContaminExpo Congress, in Paris, and the 'Highly Commended' award at the Cleanroom Technology Conference in the UK.
The new sterile, ventilated full headcover system for aseptic grade A/B cleanrooms, is available exclusively through VWR, part of Avantor.
