AMSL has now approved the US-based company's subsidiary in Romania for the production of its semiconductor manufacturing modules in its ISO Class 8 cleanroom

Benchmark Electronics has completed a new ISO Class 8 cleanroom in Romania and started production for ASML.

Benchmark Electronics Romania is a subsidiary of the US-based Benchmark Electronics.

The company is part of ASML’s supply chain. The company helps build high-precision components and modules that go into ASML’s lithography machines.

Benchmark’s VP of Marketing & Strategic Solutions, Teresa Lamberger, announced the delivery of the Brasov facility’s first production units on LinkedIn. The facility is not new, but this latest expansion was huge and almost doubled the site's capacity.

Benchmark Brasov, alongside Benchmark Almelo, serves as the centre of the company’s European operations

“In just two years, we transformed a concept into a fully functional, state-of-the-art cleanroom equipped with an extensive portfolio of testers and production equipment, ready to meet the demands of semiconductor capital equipment innovators,” Lamberger said.

Michiel Claessens, Head of the Electronics & Machine Conditioning Sourcing Cluster at ASML, visited the site to witness this important milestone and grant the formal approvals for the cleanroom and product release.

“This achievement strengthens our long-standing partnership with ASML, making Benchmark Brasov the second location in Europe authorised to manufacture ASML modules,” Lamberger added.

“A big thank you to everyone involved for their teamwork and commitment to delivering this project on time and with the highest quality standards!”

Benchmark Brasov, alongside Benchmark Almelo, serves as the centre of the company’s European operations.

This expansion is intended to support customer-driven demand for access to high-technology manufacturing solutions, localised and global supply chains, and a customer-focused team.

Jeff Benck, President and CEO of Benchmark, added: "The new space will offer our manufacturing and engineering teams ample room to expand our operations in Eastern Europe while also bringing more high-paying jobs to the Brasov community."
