Diversified technology company 3M is hosting a free webinar on reusable respirators as part of its ‘safety spotlight’ series. The webinar will take place on Wednesday 10 July at 12.00 noon and will be hosted by technical services engineer Robert Brill from the Personal Safety division of 3M.
Providing an invaluable overview on the correct use, care and upkeep of reusable respirators, the webinar will cover four key areas: ensuring products are used as intended; storage guidelines; accessories to help wearers; and guidance on the maintenance of equipment.
‘After a reusable respirator is selected, it is crucial that it is used and maintained properly, not only to ensure the protection of the wearer but also to protect the employer’s investment in the equipment,’ Brill explains. ‘If an item of equipment is not used, maintained or stored correctly, it can cause potential issues around the level of protection being provided.
‘As well as covering the four key areas of respirator discipline and maintenance, the webinar will consider filter selection and replacement, fit checking and record keeping requirements for Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE).’
