Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Sterilin indicator autoclave bags for the disposal of biohazardous waste contain a unique indicator strip that displays “AUTOCLAVED” after completing an autoclave cycle. This means there is no need for autoclave tape and makes it easy to distinguish between autoclaved and un-autoclaved bags, making waste disposal safer.
The large 810x610mm Sterilin indicator autoclave bags are supplied in tissue box-style cartons of 200. They are suitable for high-temperature waste decontamination autoclave cycles up to 135°C. A choice of cardboard or coated wire bag holders is available to support the bags while they are being filled.
The bags also help laboratories meet Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations for waste that may contain hazardous chemicals or micro-organisms, enabling easier separation of pre- and post-autoclave waste.

Three-minute cold disinfection
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s cold disinfection technology instantly disinfects the entire cold cryo-chamber of the Microm HM550 Cryostat series in just three minutes. Other solutions require at least a two-hour warm-up period followed by a 30-minute disinfection process, or UV light, which takes at least 30 minutes, the company says.

LPCs for precision parts cleaning
To maintain high cleanliness standards, manufacturers use strict cleaning processes, often shifting to water-based solutions due to environmental regulations. But even with the best methods, how can they be sure parts are truly clean? That’s where Liquid Particle Counters (LPCs) come in
